Answers:

1. Operation Sea Lion

- Operation Overlord was the plan for the D-Day invasion of Normandy

- Operation Dynamo was the plan for the rescue evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from France after the German's 10 May 1940 invasion of the country.

2. Britain and France

- On September 3, 1939, in response to Hitler's invasion of Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany.

3. The Battle of the Atlantic took place from September 3, 1939 – May 8, 1945 (5 years, 8 months and 5 days), ending in an Allied victory. Locations included the Atlantic Ocean, the Río de la Plata, the North Sea, the Irish Sea, the Labrador Sea, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, the Outer Banks, and the Arctic Ocean.

4. A Homosexual - a downward-pointing pink triangle was sewn on left side of their shirts to identify and dehumanise them. Though homosexuality had been illegal in Germany since 1871, the Nazis began enforcing it as part of their mission to 'purify' Germany. An estimated 100,000 gay men were arrested and between 5,000 and 15,000 ended up in concentration camps. Other groups were also forced to wear coloured triangles: brown for Romanis, red for political prisoners, green for criminals, blue for immigrants, purple for Jehovah's Witnesses and black for "asocial" people, including prostitutes and lesbians.

5. Germany and Soviet Union - also known as the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, the German-Soviet Treaty of Nonaggression and the Hitler-Stalin Pact. Concluded only a few days before the start of WW2, the pact divided Eastern Europe into German and Soviet spheres of influence, claiming exclusive or predominant control over a foreign area or territory.
